Montreal bound via USA

We got away from Fredericton at a good time as we decided to eat on the way as the weather was looking iffy.

Had a great breakfast at the Thistle Restaraunt about 1 km from our camp. It was then onto St. Stephens to cross into Calais, Maine. It was about a 1/2 hour wait to get across. Oh did I mention the rain? We travelled on Hwy 2 and was there ever a lot of construction.

Going through one of the gravel/mud spots a transport truck hit a hole in the road and showered us with mud! There was so much mud all over our car and trailer that we had to stop in the next town and go into a car wash. Should have taken a picture!

We camped at Mountain View Campground just outside of Mexico, yes we wish it was the one down south as it probably would have been dryer.

Did I mention the rain? We cooked a nice breakfast of eggs and toast and got packed up before the downpour began.

We saw a lot of the homes that are attached to the barns. If it wasn't for the r__n we would have stopped at this Santa House.

One of our stops for the day was in Stowe Vermont at the Cabot Cheese outlet. Due to the storm the power was out and they had to close the store so we missed out on it this time.

We found a great little bakery/cafe in Stowe that we had lunch at. Soup & sandwich, cookie and coffee for $7. All made fresh and tasted great. We found a lot more construction again on the roads.

Got into the Lone Pine Campsite in Colchester, Vermont by about 2:00 pm. We got the trailer all set up under just overcast skies, hoping it would dry out a little and THEN!! Did I mention the rain?
