Hail, Rain, Wind (SUN)

What a day! Larry & Judy took us out to Merrickville for the day. On the way there we stopped at the Capital Hill Cemetery where my fathers family the Powell's are interred. Rick and I always enjoy wandering around old cemeteries. It really helped that my cousin Judy knew where they were. Florence is my Nanny Powell my fathers mother. It was great to find where she is buried and the aunts and uncles who are around her.

Merrickville is on the Rideau locks and is very historic.

We really enjoyed looking around all the unique shops in the town and went for lunch at an authentic British eatery (Gad's Hill Place). The restaurant menu was in the middle of "Charles Dickens" books. Neat!

The weather took us by surprise as you can see by the title of today's blog but we just kept on going and enjoying.
Rick found a woodworking class in progress upstairs in one of the shops.

We watched glass blowing at two different glass shops which was definitely very interesting. Judy & Larry have made our stay in Ottawa very enjoyable. They are planning to come to BC in September and we will work on a plan to show them some things they have not seen in past trips.
We are off to Montreal this morning and the weather forcast does not look to great!
