Visiting a few local wineries & dairy farms

Both, good cheese and good wine, they just seem to go together.

In Grand Pre there was a winery that we stopped at and bought some wine, (saving it for Montreal to share with Buzz & Marilyn). Also in Grand Pre there was a shop that roasted and packed their own coffee and it was very good.

The Tangled Garden is a shop that produces a lot of vinegars and jellies from their own herbs. We took a lot of the back roads to Windsor for lunch at Lisa's Family Cafe a very popular restaurant with the locals.

The old clothing maufacturing plant closed down years ago and so has the retail outlet.

We used to stop there and pick a few things up years ago.

Just out of Port William we found the "Fox Hill Cheese Farm" where they make their own cheese and Italian Gelato. MMM good! Bought some for the trip back. Doing the backroads near Port Williams we found the old Allens apple juice canning plant which is still in business under another name. Rick remembers it from his days at the warehouse in Dawson Creek. They didn't have a retail outlet but the lady at the reception desk was very friendly and informative.

On the way back to Tracey's we found a very small "Tim Hortons" in Kentville that had a drive through with a small counter inside (no sit down area). Only in Nova Scotia have we been able to find Tim Horton Oat Cakes.

They have changed the shape and texture but they are still delicious! It was the same one in Windsor from at least 10 years ago where we found them again.
We have seen pheasants roaming free and this is the only one that we captured on film!
